10 Minute Pickled Onions Recipe

Pickled onions are not only delicious but super easy to make that even the most beginner home chef can prep these and have them easy to grab out of the fridge all week long! Pickled onions took cafes and the internet by storm last summer and they are here to stay! This easy recipe requires just 10 minutes of prep and is ready to go after just a few hours. Goes perfectly on top of avocado toast!

Ingredients:

1 red onion

1 cup of white wine vinegar (can sub for apple cider vinegar as well!)

1 tbsp of sugar or maple syrup

1/2 tbsp of salt

1 cup of HOT HOT water

Cooking instructions

  1. Finely slice 1 red onion, best if using a mandolin

  2. Pour vinegar, sugar and salt into mason jar

  3. Add hot water and stir until sugar melts

  4. Put onion rings in jar, fill until just covered by the vinegar solution

  5. Let sit on counter for an hour

  6. Twist lit tightly and place in fridge

*Good for 3 weeks, if using brown sugar or apple cider vinegar will give slight brown color to vinegar solution*

Tofu scramble and pickled onions both on avocado toast :)
